Obituary for Mrs. L.C. Scobee
Mrs. L.C.(Birdena) Scobee, 59, route one, Fulton, died Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Moline Public Hospital.
Services were Saturday at Tomlinson Funeral Home. Rev. James Breed of the Garden Plain Presbyterian church officiated. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roger Kallenbach, Stanley Kallenbach, Harry Kallenbach, James Scobee, Jerry Scobee and Gary Scobee.
Eloise Stone was organist, and Mrs. George James was soloist.
The former Birdena Van Vliet was born Sept. 19, 1916, the daughter of Fred and Anna Lathrop Van Vliet in Amberg, Wis.
She married Chester Watson in Wisconsin in 1935. She married L.C. Scobee in Morrison Aug. 4, 1956. For the past 40 years she had lived in the Morrison area and was a retired General Electric employee.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, the Fulton Saddle club, and the Garden Plain Presbyterian church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Hill and Mrs. Mary Geil, both of Morrison, one son, Michael at home; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. George Bartels of Pembine, Wis., Mrs. James Ettler, Amberg, Wis., Mrs. William Reeser, Franksville, Wis., and Mrs. William Schemel, Racine, Wis.; and one bother, Earl, Sunnydale, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.
