Birth: Feb. 5, 1923 Death: Dec. 22, 2003 Mapleton Peoria County Illinois, USA MAPLETON - Lawrence C. Taets, 80, of Mapleton died at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at his home. Born Feb. 5, 1923, to Edmond and Mary Taets, he married Alta Gohde on June 1, 1976 [1996], in Kingston Mines. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Marilyn (and James) Price of Mesa, Ariz.; one son, Charles (and Sharon) of Dixon; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Bess Rainwater Taets, one sister and one grandchild. He was a line worker for Kellogg Corp., retiring on Feb. 1, 1980. He also farmed in the Tampico area. He was a member of Kingston Mines United Methodist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at his church, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. James Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Valley of the Sun Memorial Park in Arizona at a later date. Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to his church.
