Schweinforth
Dorothy Mae (Keech) Schweinforth, 95, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, in Quarryville, Pa. She was born in West Fort Ann, N.Y., to Coridon Louis and Eva May (Fisher) Keech. After graduation from Teacher's Training School in Hudson Falls, N.Y., she taught school near her home, then taught at a mission school in the Kentucky mountains from 1938 to 1944.
She lived in Ballston Spa, N.Y., from 1947 to 1998, and was active in the Ballston Center Presbyterian Church. She was very interested in mission work around the world.
From 1967 to 1981 she was a teaching assistant in the Ballston Spa Central School District. In 1998 she moved to the Presbyterian Retirement Community (QPRC) in Quarryville, Pa., where she was on the Education Committee and was pen pal to numerous local school children.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Leon Benjamin Schweinforth. She is survived by a sister, Beverly Lyons, of Grants Pass, Ore.; children, Pauline Fox of E. Stroudsburg, Pa., Carol Fritz of Raleigh, N.C., and Ross Schweinforth of Graysville, Tenn.; plus 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her family wishes to thank the staff of QPRC for their compassionate care and her many friends for their love and support. Memorial services will be at QPRC at 10:45 a.m. on Monday January 25, and in Ballston Center, N.Y., later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to QPRC with memo "Resident Cultural Events", or to Ignite, Int'l., PO Box 110151, Carrollton, TX 75011- 0151, a sports evangelism ministry founded by Dorothy's granddaughter, Judy Fox.
