Layher, Iva L. Traverse City, MI (Formerly of Ann Arbor) Age 99, passed away October 9, 2004 in Traverse City. Iva was born on June 24, 1905 in Salem Township, Michigan to Andrew & Antoinette (Geigler) Fahrner. In 1929 she was married to Harold W. Layher. She was employed at the University of Michigan Dental School until her retirement in 1975. Iva was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ann Arbor Elks' Arborettes. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Barbara (David) Space of Traverse City; five grandchil dren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents, Andrew and Antoinette; three sisters, including twin sister, Viva Rayment of Tuscon, AZ; and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Ann Arbor. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Ann Arbor Elks Building Fund.
