  [S927] Obituary. Irene Fleahman, age 76 of Ivanhoe, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mass of Christian burial was 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe with Father Paul Schumacher as celebrant. Visitation was from 5 to 7p.m. on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the Birk Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7p.m. followed by the rosary. Visitation continued one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial was at the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Cemetery. For online condolences please visit our website at www.birkfuneralhome.com Irene Marie Fleahman was born on August 28, 1933 in Lincoln County, Minnesota to parents Leo and Mary (Lukesczewski) Biranowski. She graduated from Ivanhoe in the class of 1952. Irene was united in marriage to LeRoy C. Fleahman on March 2, 1957 at the St. Olaf Catholic Church in Minneapolis, MN. To this union they were blessed with three children. LeRoy passed away on December 3, 1978. Irene worked at the school, the extension office and for 26 years she worked for the Farmers Home Administration. She enjoyed cooking, baking, trying new recipes, playing bingo, doing volunteer work for the church, attending her grandchildren's activities and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, Ivanhoe Senior Center and the Divine Providence Auxiliary. Grateful for having shared Irene's life are her three children: Kim (Rod) VanderZiel of Marshall, Brian (Rita) Fleahman of Ivanhoe, and Charles (Vicki) Fleahman of Marshall; six grandsons: Dan and Evan VanderZiel, Brandon and Corey Fleahman, Zach and Brett Fleahman; two brothers, John (Clara) Biranowski of Ivanhoe, Emil Biranowski Klamath Falls, OR; two sisters Stella Jerzak of Ivanhoe, Emily (John) Ranisate, Cameron, WI; two sisters-in-law, Carol Frisby and Pat Fleahman; brother-in-law, Jack Skorczewski; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers Frank and Walter Biranowski; two sisters, Helen Biranowski and Sophie Skorczewski; two sisters-in-law, Violet and Pauline Biranowski; and four brothers-in-law, Roy Jerzak, Clair Carpenter, Harlan Fleahman and Chuck Frisby.
