Mary M. Stoehr
Mary M. Lewis Stoehr, 83, formerly of Williamstown, passed away early Sunday morning (April 2, 2006) in Harmar Place, where she had been a resident. She was surrounded by family.
She was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Albert and Augusta OBerg Bickerstaff. She had been employed at Marietta Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years and enjoyed her grandchildren and also enjoyed traveling. She had attended the First Baptist Church in Williamstown. On Nov. 8, 1939, she was married to Maurice R. Lewis, who preceded her in death on June 23, 1976. On Nov. 15, 1980, she was married to Thurman L. Stoehr, who died Aug. 18, 1991. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Rhonda Lee.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald M. Lewis and his wife, Barbara, and Gerald W. Lewis and his wife, Gloria, all of Williamstown, and Dennis R. Lewis and his wife, Sharon, of Atlantic Beach, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, and a speical friend, Don Shaffer, of Marietta. She is also survived by one sister, Clara Louise Bianco of Wintersville, Ohio; three brothers, Albert Bickerstaff and his wife, Isabell, of Steubenville, William Bickerstaff and his companion, Petie, of Plymouth, Ind., and Dale Bickerstaff and his companion, Linda, of Toronto, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Mike Ward officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service.
