Tuesday's wreck killed a man heading to work on his motorcycle. Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Raul Garcia said Dennis Oddo, 57, of Phoenix, was hit by a Dodge Stratus just after midnight.

Garcia said Leith Monroe, 33, was driving the car at a high speed when she clipped the motorcycle, shearing off one of the front wheels of the car. Oddo was thrown from the motorcycle and tumbled along the roadway.

A witness stopped and gave first aid and CPR to Oddo. He was transported to a hospital where he died.

Monroe stopped about a quarter mile from the scene and later was taken into custody by Arizona state troopers. Garcia said she was uncooperative on scene.

A witness reported seeing Monroe get out of the car and "appear to stumble around," according to the court documents

Also according to court documents, DPS troopers "immediately detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the subject and located several open and closed containers or alcoholic beverages inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle."

Other drivers had also reportedly called 911 reporting the Stratus tailgating and weaving round the roadway.

According to court documents, as troopers spoke with Monroe, they" immediately detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the subject and located several open and closed containers of alcoholic beverage inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle."

Monroe was transported to the Deer Valley DPS office where officials say "she became verbally and physically violent" and reportedly tried to grab the needle as troopers were trying to draw blood. According to court documents, Monroe tried to break from from the detective's grasp, and also "began to use profanity and become irate."

It also turns our Monroe was driving on a suspended license. Authorities say her driver's license had been suspended for a 2012 DUI conviction.

According to court documents, Leith has a record of numerous prior arrests including the DUI, and that her "arrest behavior directly related to current arrest."

She is due back in court Feb. 23.
