HERBERT AND MARIE OPP Herbert, Marie and family Herbert was born near Eureka, August 6, 1915 to Fred D. and Lydia (Hoff) Opp. Both Fred and Lydia were born in South Dakota and passed away in 1975. Other children in the family included: Reinhold and Arthur, both deceased; Ella Schnabel, Anna Mettler, and Ervin. Marie was born January 17, 1915 near Ashley, North Dakota to George and Elizabeth (Fischer) Kaul. George was born November 2, 1888 and Elizabeth was born October 31, 189.0. They both were born in Russia and came to the United States in June 1913. They farmed seven miles south of Ashley until their retirement. George passed away September 26, 1973 and Elizabeth passed away June 2, 1980. Marie has one adopted brother, Ervin G., who lives at Townsend, Montana. Herbert and Marie were married June 5, 1938. They farmed until Herbert's death July 29, 1967. After Marie moved to Eureka she worked as a nurses aid at the local hospital for eleven years. Herbert was and Marie continues to be an active member of the Reformed Church. They were the parents of two sons: Roger, born June 2, 1939, married Joyce Anderson from Vermillion, South Dakota. They have three children, Kevin, Michael, and Kimberly. Floyd, born September 7, 1945, married Donna Lammle of Long Lake, South Dakota. They have three children, Penelope, Robin, and Andrea.
