LELAND — Ann Rebecca Nageldinger McFarlane, a loving soul whose infectious passion for existence touched the lives of those who met her, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Munson Medical Center. She was 55. Annie was born on Jan. 26, 1960 in Battle Creek the daughter of James and Dorothy (Gottshall) Nageldinger. The youngest of four children, Annie’s adventurous spirit took her to beautiful parts of the United States from Colorado to Nantucket before she ultimately settled in Northern Michigan in her early 30s. There, Annie’s natural creativity found its outlet in silversmithing. Using raw materials gathered during peaceful evening beach walks, Annie spent her life producing unique designs that were reminders of both her talent and the incomparable beauty of the area she loved so much. When she wasn’t tinkering away into the night in her store, Annie could be found spending time with her loved ones. Always a devoted mother and friend, Annie loved to share her wonderful sense of humor and boisterous spirit with those around her. Annie is survived by her children, Kenyon and Jamie; her mother, Dorothy; and her brother, Jim Nageldinger. A final sale of her jewelry and celebration of her life will be held from 3-7 p.m. on July 25th, 2015 at her store, Aurora Borealis Designs, at 106 N. Lake St. in Leland, MI.
