Joseph G. Loschky Born: 2261914 Died: 10112005 Joe, 91, a lifelong resident of the south side of Indianapolis, was born to Anna and Tobias Loschky. One of five children, he was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Joe graduated from Cathedral High School (class of '32), and attended the University of Notre Dame in South Bend. He spent three and 12 years as a Master Sergeant in the US Army during WW II, serving in Okinawa, and was awarded the Bronze Star. After his tour of duty, he married Louise (Suding). His career began at his grandfather's family business, John Wachtel Corporation. Later in his long career, he worked for 13 years for the Indiana Employment Security Division, from which he retired. Joe was active in Beech Grove politics and participated in many service organizations, among them he served as President of the Beech Grove Lions Club, and was a longtime member of the Downtown Exchange Club and the Msgr. Downey Council Knights of Columbus. He was a loyal parishioner for many years at Holy Name Catholic Church, participating in the various men's clubs and charity groups. Joe's active years included many travels worldwide. He took a keen interest in American history. In his later years, Joe volunteered tirelessly for the St. Vincent dePaul Society. Joe was a devoted husband and a gentle, loving father. He is survived by his wife, Louise, of 59 years; his four children, Joan (Wolfe) of Indianapolis, Jerrald of Roselle Park, NJ, Allan of Memphis, TN, and Craig of Beech Grove. His family also includes nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St. (US 31 South), Indianapolis from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2005, where morning prayers will be said on Saturday, October 15, 2005, at 10 a.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 N. 17th Ave. Beech Grove by Pastor Gerald Burkert. Donations may be made in his memory to Holy Name Catholic Church, the St. Vincent dePaul Society, or the American Cancer Society.
