Services will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. followed by a parish vigil at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.Elizabeth was born May 16, 1915, in St. Anthony, the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Emil) Froelich. She married Joseph Magelki on Oct. 8, 1938, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mandan. A lifelong resident of Mandan, she worked cleaning homes while Joe was in the service, at the experiment station and for 18 years at the Blue Ribbon Hatchery. Betty loved to fish with her husband, Joe, and also with friends. In later years, she particularly enjoyed visits with her mailmen. She was very proud of and dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, June and William Schreiner, Mandan; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her brother, Joe Froelich, Bismarck; her sisters and brother-in-law, Pauline Beckler and Emma and Harold Brady, all of Mandan; her sister-in-law, Minnie Ringquist, Fargo; and special friends, Lena Lang, Bob Poppe, Bob Beth and Bonnie and Dennis Repnow.She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, who died Nov. 11, 2000; her daughter, Shirley Kautzman; her brother, John Froelich; her sisters, Frances Berger, Rose Leingang and Cecilia Bender; and infant siblings, Julie and twins, Martha and Peter.
