She was born in Woodsfield, Ohio on December 12, 1926 a daughter of the late Asher and Rose Yockey Earley. Martha was a homemaker and a former school teacher in Woodsfield and Columbus, Ohio. She was also a member of St. Paul?s Catholic Church in Westerville, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Lou Scott. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Franklin Scott; one son: John (Stephanie) Scott of Baltimore, Maryland; two daughters: Laura Scott of Westerville, Ohio and Ann (Joe) Adson of Independence, Kentucky; one brother: Ralph E. Earley of Wayne, Michigan; one grandson: Asher Adson. Friends will be received at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 East Schrock Rd., Westerville, Ohio from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009. Friends will then be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio with Rev. Fr. David Gaydosik as the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio. Vigil services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
