Arlene Rose Anderson, 88, of Kewanee, died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Atlanta, GaA funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Kewanee. The Rev. James Pallardy will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Cremation will be accorded following the services and inurnment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kewanee at a later date. Memorials may be made to Visitation Catholic School. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.Arlene was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Kewanee, the daughter of Forrest and Francis (Thurwanger) Blust. She married Arthur E. Anderson on Oct. 17, 1942 in Kewanee. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2007. Survivors include three daughters, Karen (Richard) McNeill of Kewanee, Denise (Norman) Kirley of Roswell, Ga. and Vicki (Daniel) Odar of South Bend, Ind.; a brother, Daniel Blust of Longwood, Fla.; a stepsister, Dr. Carol Gleich of Moline; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Anderson of Kewanee and Virginia Anderson of Wooster, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Tom, Tim and John Kirley, Lindsey Kirley Nichols, Greg McNeill, Nicole McNeill Palanos and Michael, Melissa and Steven Odar; and four great-grandchildren, Connor, McCay and Noelle Kirley and Tyler Palanos. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Donna Johnston; and a brother, Warren ?Red? Blust.Arlene graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1937. She was a homemaker and had been a volunteer in the gift shop at Kewanee Hospital for several years. She had also been a real estate agent and the school secretary at Holy Name Grade School in Birmingham, Mich. She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Kewanee.
