BLOMEKE, 89, of Auburn, died Wednesday August 15, 2012 at DeKalb Health in Auburn. She was born October 3, 1922 in DeKalb County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Ellert. She married Louis George Blomeke on June 26, 1946 at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Waterloo and he preceded her in death. She had worked at Dekalb Memorial Hospital as a dietary aid and also as a volunteer at the curiosity shop in Auburn. Mrs. Blomeke was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Auburn and an avid card player and round and square dancer. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law; three daughters and sons-in-law; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; siblings, James Ellert, Carl Ellert, Bertha Cox, Rita Roark, Floyd “Ben” Ellert, Theresa Stanley and Barbara Bounds; special friend, Richard “Woody” Silvers. She was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Louis Blomeke; grandson, Steven Louis Blomeke; siblings, Edward, Clayton, Jerome, Leonard and Irene Ellert. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 10:30 am with visitation one hour prior at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 E. Seventh Street Auburn. Visitation will also be held Sunday from 1-5p.m.with a rosary service at 4:15 pm at Pinnington-McComb Funeral & Cremation Services 502 N. Main Street Auburn. Memorials to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Waterloo. Burial in Saint Michael Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo.
