EUNICE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice for Anthony Gerald Daigle, 76, who passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at the Eunice Extended Care Hospital.
The Rev. Cedric Sonnier, pastor of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice, will be the celebrant with the Rite of Committal to follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery in Eunice.
Mr. Daigle was a loving husband, father and PawPaw. He was in the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict and later received the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Daigle was also the owner of Daigle's Upholstery as well as a local farmer for 12 years.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lyuellen Daigle, of Eunice; six sons, Darryl Daigle and wife, Roxanne, of Eunice, Mark Daigle and wife, Rebecca, of Eunice, Virgil Daigle and wife, Lynn, of Eunice, Aaron Daigle and wife, Donna, of Eunice, Anthony Daigle, of Eunice, and Matthew Daigle and wife, Sarah, of Iota; three daughters, Brenda Daigle, of Eunice, Louellen Vidrine and husband, Brent, of Eunice, and Nannette Alexander and husband, Stuart, of Eunice; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three nephews; and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Christine Klein Daigle; godmother, Nettie Klein; brother, Raymond Daigle; grandson, Brett Christopher Daigle; and granddaughter, Cherrie Daigle.
The family requested that visitation hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice and will continue today, Feb. 28, 2007, from 8 a.m. until time of services.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
