Obituary for Celestine G. Schaub Traverse City-Celestine G. Schaub, 93, of Traverse City, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Munson Medical Center. Born April 16, 1919 in Bingham Township, he was the son of Rudolph and Irene (Steimel) Schaub. In 1937 Celestine graduated from Suttons Bay Highschool. On September 12, 1939 in Traverse City, he married the late Thelma M. (Couturier) Schaub who preceded him in death in 2009. Celestine was a devout member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Eagles. He was a a retired general building contractor for many years and built residential and commercial buildings. He was also very involved with the Carmelite Monastery. Celestine loved to Polka, spend time with his Florida friends and eat breakfast with his breakfast club at Flap Jack Shack. Above all he was a loving and caring father who will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday May 15, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm at St. Francis Catholic Church. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.
