Fyock, 99, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at his home. Dale was the son of the late Robert D. and Cora Goodlin Fyock and was born on Dec. 9, 1917. He lived his entire life in Penn Run.A graduate of Indiana High School, he was employed by Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Company as a surveyor, draftsman and division engineer, and retired after 40 years of dedicated service.He was a member of the Penn Run Church of the Brethren, the last surviving charter member of the Cherryhill Township Volunteer Fire Company and a founding member of the Allegheny Riverside Association.Dale was a life-long railroad buff. He could sit by the tracks for hours watching the trains. He enjoyed numerous trips across America with family on Amtrak and belonged to the National Association of Railroad Passengers. When he no longer was able to ride the rails, he enjoyed watching golf and solving challenging Sudoku puzzles.He is survived by his five children: Becky (Fred) Widdowson, of Roanoke, Va.; Dale Tracy (Darlene), of Clymer; Peggy (Aaron) Ankeny, of Quincy, Fla.; Corinne Cramer, of Penn Run; and John (Jean), of Penn Run. Also surviving are a sister, Della (Francis) Duncan, of Winter Garden, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; as well as a loving extended family.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Nellie Overman Fyock, on Dec. 13, 1997; his siblings, Dorothy, Doyle and Dora Jane; a son-in-law, Rodney Cramer; and a dear friend, Elva Alsop.Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robinson-Lytle Funeral Home in Indiana. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Penn Run Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jeff Fackler officiating.
