Obituary (from Betty Hartley):
Dorothy Agnes Schwallie, 85, South Acres, Caldwell, died Thursday evening,
April 27, 1995 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was
born Jan. 15, 1910 in Woodsfield, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester (Minnie)
Schumacher. She was a homemaker and former church organist at St. Mary Catholic
Church, Temperanceville. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell,
and the Catholic Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Schumacher. Surviving are her husband,
Leo F. Schwallie, whom she married Dec. 9, 1940; two sons, Ted Schwallie of Grand Haven,
Michigan, and Ambrose Schwallie of Aiken, S.C.; two brothers, Fred Schumacher, Woodsfield,
and Karl Schumacher, Carrollton; one sister. Gladys Pfeffer of Woodsfield; four grandchildren.
Friends were received Sunday at McVay-Perkms Funeral Home, Caldwell. Mass of Christian
Burial was held Monday morning at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell with Rev. Fr. Dale
Tornes as celebrant Burial followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Temperanceville.
