Mary Block (Black? Blake?) Schott's obituary appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on June 7, 1932 SCHOTT SERVICES AT BERNE CHURCH Summerfield, O., June 7 -- Rev. Fr. Anthony Tague conducted funeral services for Mrs. Mary Schott, wife of Jacob Schott, Monday morning in St. Michaels R. C. church, Berne, and burial was made in the church cemetery. Mrs. Schott's death occurred at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in her home, near Berne, from cancer. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one brother and three sisters, Jacob Black and Mrs. Frank Ulrich, Lewisville, Mrs. Henry Kress and Mrs. Joseph Ritterbeck, Fulda, and the following step-children; Mrs. Eugene Leiser, Mrs. Walter Moran, Martin and Urban Schott, Cleveland, Isadore, North Louisville, Edward Schott, Massilon, Wilbert, Cum-berland, Mrs. Ben Gerdis, Coldwater, Mrs. Alex Crock, Dexter City and Mrs. William Crum, Caldwell.
A shorter death notice appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on June 9, 1932 BERNE, O., June 8 -- Mrs. Mry Schott of route 1 passed away at her family home near here Saturday morning, following a lingering illness of complications. Funeral services were held Monday in the St. Michael's church here with Brubach and Dearth in charge.
