Robert A. Lydick, 82, 7 Gardner Ave., DuBois, died Saturday at Altoona Hospital, Altoona.Born Dec. 22, 1925, in DuBois, he was a son of the late Grover C. and Mary J. Lines Lydick.He was Protestant by faith.He was a 1943 graduate of Sandy High School.He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II and also during the Korean War with the Army National Guard.He had been employed with the B & O Railroad for 30 years and Preston Trucking for 10 years.He was a former member of Garfield Lodge No. 559 Free and Accepted Masons, DuBois, and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Sunday School bowling league.He is survived by three sons: James A. Lydick, DuBois, Steven R. Lydick, Falls Creek, and William A. Lydick, Scranton; four sisters: Mildred Holt, DuBois, Dorothy Deman, Texas, Beverly Nelson, St. Louis, Mo., and Bertie Marsh, Erie; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson.He was also preceded in death by a brother Leland Lydick; a granddaughter, Morgan Alexandra Lydick; and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Rae Anthony.---LYDICK: Robert A., 7 Gardner Ave., DuBois, died June 14, 2008. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Ron Lindahl officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
