Lois E. Widdowson

Lois E. Widdowson, 81, of Indiana, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at St. Andrew's Village, Indiana. A daughter of the late Jacob I. and Cora Uncapher Fyock, she was born Dec. 6, 1922, in Green Township, Indiana County. Mrs. Widdowson lived most of her life in Indiana County, where she graduated from Indiana Area High School and then from Indiana Normal School (I.U.P.) with a degree in mathematics. She was a homemaker and a teacher, having taught at Friedens High School, Somerset County. Mrs. Widdowson was a member of the Indiana Church of the Brethren, a 20-year volunteer at St. Andrew's Village, and enjoyed sewing and reading. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth B. Widdowson; four children, Barbara Planinsek and husband, Fred, of Latrobe, Eleanor Kish and husband, John, of Jeannette, Arnold Widdowson and wife, Gwen, of Fleetwood, and Lucy Wood and husband, Jeff Shelocta; seven grandchildren; a brother, George Fyock, of Clymer; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Blaine Fyock; and a sister, Hazel Greene. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 4, at 3 p.m. at the Indiana Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Horrace E. Derr officiating. Interment will be in Montgomery Cemetery, Hillsdale.
