Birth: Dec. 25, 1896 Stark County North Dakota, USA Death: Sep. 26, 1957 Center Oliver County North Dakota, USA John Valentine Kuhn was the first son born to his immigrant parents, Valentine and Monika (Zimmerman) Kuhn.He was born and raised with 12 siblings on his parent's homestead about 8 miles north of Richardton, North Dakota.He served in WWI, and operated a garage at Richardton afterward. John took Caroline Mische as his bride on 15 January 1921. He was Richardton Postmaster from 1922 to 1934, when he went into commercial trucking. He died of a heart attack while at Center, ND. Survivors include his wife, two sons: Kenneth (Della) and Howard (Joan), two daughters: Carol Zent (Curtis)and Marilyn single,six brothers, five sisters and 8 grandchildren. He was laid to rest at his Parish cemetery, beside his parents, and an empty plot on the other side for his wife.
