YAKIMA - Irene Regina Beehler, 81, a longtime Yakima resident, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Yakima Regional Medical Center.
Irene was born January 27, 1923, in Linton, North Dakota, to Peter and Threce (Feist) Pfau. She moved with her family to Yakima in 1936. Irene married Albert M. "Al" Beehler on June 4, 1946, in Yakima. Irene worked as a fruit packer for about ten years.
She enjoyed reading, cooking German food, knitting and crocheting Afghans. She was a member of St. Paul Cathedral since 1946, and was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary since 1957. Her real love was her family, especially her two granddaughters. She enjoyed all the Holidays with her family. Irene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nona Beehler and her two granddaughters, Michele I. Beehler and Lynda K. Beehler, all of Yakima; as well as other close family members.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Threce Pfau; her husband, Albert Beehler on November 23, 1974; and by a brother, Sebastian Pfau on November 15, 1990.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Thursday, at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.
A Vigil Service will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 Noon Thursday, April 29, 2004, at St. Paul Cathedral. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
