Birth: Sep. 21, 1876 Noble County Ohio, USA Death: Aug. 23, 1930 Noble County Ohio, USA The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH), August 26, 1930: Charles E. Crum Called Funeral services for Charles E. Crum, aged 53, prominent farmer of the Carlisle community, and a member of the Noble county board of elections, were held from the St. Michael's Catholic church, of which he was a devoted member on Monday [Aug 25]morning at 10 o'clock. Solemn requiem mass was read by the pastor Rev. Tague and the funeral sermon was delivered by Rev. C. C. Crock of Cambridge, formerly of Caldwell. burial was made in the church cemetery at Carlisle. Mr. Crum's death which occurred at the family home Saturday [Aug 23] morning at 10:30 o'clock followed a two week illness of acute indigestion. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Caroline Hill Crum, five children: Andrew, Clarence, Edna, Edwin, and Ralph, all of the home. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Edward J. Crum, Pittsburg, PA.; Richard Crum, Lewisville; William Crum, Caldwell; Leo and Lewis Crum of Carlisle; Mrs., A. J. Sheets, Youngstown; Mrs. Leo Schell, Carlisle; Mrs. E. H. Michael, Caldwell. According to his death certificate, 53 year old farmer Charles E. Crum died on August 23, 1930 in Stock Tw., Noble Co., Ohio. He was married to Caroline Crum at the time of his death. He was born on September 21, 1876 in Noble Co., Ohio to Frank Crum and Elizabeth Noll. The cause of death is given as "Chirrhosis[sic cirrhosis] of the liver." He was buried on August 25, 1930 in Berne Cemetery [St. Michael]. The information on the death certificate was provided by Clarence L. Crum, Berne, Ohio RFD 1.
