Arlene Bruneau, 83, of Sarasota, formerly of Louisville, Ohio died Dec. 29, 2010.
A Memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Incarnation Catholic Church. Toale Brothers Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Arlene passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at the Tidewell Hospice House.
She is mourned by her three daughters, Sharen Ritterman and her husband, Stuart of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Denyse Bass and her husband, Jim of Hamilton, Montana; Geri Haynes and her husband Rod of Sarasota; She is survived by two sisters in Ohio, Mary Blackburn and Beulah Suarez; She leaves four grandchildren, Joshua Ritterman (Winnie) of Hong Kong; Sam Bass (Julie) of Washington, DC; Christie Bass of Roswell, Georgia; and Ariana Haynes of Sarasota; She is also mourned by Pat Harty, a niece in Sarasota as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
She retired from the Sarasota County School system where she taught special education for many years. She also taught at Cardinal Mooney High School and St. Martha's School. She was a volunteer in the Asolo Guild and the Florida Studio Theater. She was very active in the Incarnation Church as a long time choir member and volunteer. She will be missed by her many friends.
