Matilda M. Burkhart, 92, of Syracuse, NY, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Kuhn, one of six children. Born in Lewisville, Ohio, she resided in Canton, Ohio until moving to Syracuse in 1961. She worked as a nurse at the Van Duyn Home and retired in 1982. She was a member of Our Lady of Solace Church for over 40 years and more recently a member of All Saints Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Burkhart, of 58 years and a granddaughter, Amanda. She is survived by one daughter, Roseann Boulding of Burlington Ontario; four sons, David of Winterville, GA, Paul (Amy) of Stilwell, KS, Dennis (Peggy) of Hooksett, NH, and Patrick (Mary) of Fayetteville, NY; eight grandchildren: Matthew, Lindsay, Timothy, Laura, Glenn, Peter, Katie, and Joe and four great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Madison, Xander, and Sydney.
Calling Hours: Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at Burns Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 East Genesee St. Funeral Service: Saturday, 10 a.m. at All Saints Church, 112 Lancaster Avenue. Burial at St. Mary's Resurrection Mausoleum.
Contributions may be made to All Saints Church or Fayetteville Senior Center, 584 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville, NY 13066.
