The neighboring households in the census were those of schoolteacher Henry Hasting and farmer John Sterangel.In 1860, 60 year old Hessian-born farmer John Warner lived in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his 50 year old wife, Margaret and their six children: Adam (18), John (14), Andrew (10), Joseph (8), Elizabeth (16), and Mary A. (12). All the children except Adam attended school.In 1880, retired farmer John (80) and Margaret (69) Warner lived in the Village of Fulda, Noble County, Ohio with a 15 year old servant named Mary Ann (last name illegible). Mary Ann may be the Mary Ann Warner who is listed as an adopted child by researcher JoAnn Cummings. Mary Ann, who was born in Ohio, attended school in 1880. According to the census, John was born in Hesse, and Margaret was born in West Virginia. Adjacent housholds belonged to schoolteacher Morris Alderhoven and grocer John Arnold.The following report appeared in The Caldwell Citizens' Press on 19 Jan 1882:Old Mr. Wehner [Warner] and John Hall are both in a dying condition,we may expect their death at almost any hour.Margaret Hildebrand [Parents] 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 was born on 10 Oct 1809 in Hesse, Germany.
