Naomi Ruth Plemons Beamer
Naomi Ruth Plemons Beamer, 86, Valley Falls, formerly of Berryton and Topeka, died Fri., Dec. 12, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital. She was born Feb. 3, 1922, at Redfield, KS, the daughter of Roy M. and Anna Belle (Niemeier) Stevens. Naomi was a member of the Berryton United Methodist Church and Telephone Pioneers. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell before retiring. She was married to Loyd Plemons who preceded her in death in March, 1971. She was married to Raymond Beamer who preceded her in death in August, 2003. She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters: Gail Leighty in May, 1980, and Pamela Plemons in July, 2007. Surviving are children: Barbara Westbrook (John Gordon) of Valley Falls, Judy Shipley (John, Sr.) of Oskaloosa, and Tom Plemons (Dianne) of Topeka; 2 step-children: Raymond Beamer III of Fort Worth, TX and Gwen Blakely of Topeka; 11 Grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thurs., Dec. 18, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Naomi will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
