Thomas Benjamin "TB" Musick
Thomas Benjamin "TB" Musick, 87, of Amarillo died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with John Green and Glenn Reagan officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Mr. Musick was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Montague County to Valle and Grace Musick. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School and attended Hardin Junior College in Wichita Falls. He married Freda Wiist on March 17, 1940, in Waurika, Okla. They moved to Amarillo from Wichita Falls in 1960. He and Freda celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this year.
Mr. Musick was a mechanic for ICX Motor Freight and a member of the Teamsters Union for 46 years. He was a charter member of the Boys Club of America in Wichita Falls and a member of the Wichita Falls Junior Chamber of Commerce. After his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and "harassing the general public." He was a friend to everyone and the "ultimate volunteer," always ready and willing to help family, friends and neighbors.
He received various awards including Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association, Country Squire - Jack Daniels Distillery and ICX Award for 46 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Musick; a daughter, Ninell Musick Splawn of Wichita Falls; two sons, Larry Musick and wife Jerrie and Chuck Musick and wife Monica, all of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Susan Splawn Humphrey and husband Kevin of Austin, Todd Musick of Tulsa, Okla., Cory Musick, Blase Musick, Charley Musick and wife Christi, Missy Musick and Breann Musick, all of Amarillo; and two great-grandchildren, Skyler and McKenzie Musick of Amarillo.
The family suggests memorials be to Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter St., Suite 404, Amarillo, TX 79106.
