Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Henrietta, Texas with Rev. Randy Osborn, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Bluegrove Cemetery in Bluegrove, Texas under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas. Mrs. Long was born on May 1, 1937 in Halsell, Texas to Carl E. and Sylvia Mae (Wiist) Grinke. She married Melvin Long on December 17, 1955 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Mrs. Long was a homemaker and and a loving mother, She was a member of First Baptist Church in Henrietta where she taught Ladies Bible Class. Mrs. Long also enjoyed the Bluegrove Quilting Club on Tuesday mornings. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Carol Ann Grinke. Survivors include her husband, Melvin Long of Bluegrove, TX; three daughters, Lu Ann Reaves of Alvarado, TX, Charlotte Sutton of Bowie, TX and Carol Jo Newton and husband Harold of Lake Arrowhead, TX; one son, Melvin Breck Long and wife Cinda of Fort Smith, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 544, Henrietta, Texas. The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, November 22, 2011 from 7:00PM-8:00PM.
