Obituary (from Betty Harley):
Benjamin S. Schumacher, 76, of Woodsfield, Route I, a retired farmer, died Wednesday morning, February 2, 1966, at one o?clock, at his home after a few days serious illness. He had been in failing health for the past several years.
He was born December 25, 1889, in Woodsfield, the son of the late John and Katherine Weisend Schumacher. Mr. Schumacher was a member of St. Sylvester?s Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Purgatorial Society and the Holy Name Society of St. Sylvester?s.
Surviving are one sister, Miss Emma Schumacher, of the home; a nephew, Raymond Haren, of Middletown, Ohio and Paul Dittor, who has made his home with the Schumachers for the past several years. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Mrs. Clementine Schumacher Haren and Miss Anna Schumacher who died in 1965.
Friends were received at the Michener Funeral Home where the Rosary was recited at eight o?clock, Thursday evening.
A Requiem High Mass was solemnized on Friday morning at 9:30 o?clock in St. Sylvester?s Church with the Very Reverend Robeit A. Brown, V. F., officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
