C.C. Lang, 69, Dies: Agricultural Advisor
Chester C. Lang, a former professor of agriculture for the Ohio State University Agricultural Extension Service and agricultural advisor for all of Latin America for the U.S. government, died yesterday at University Hospitals after a long illness. He was 69.
Mr. Lang was a graduate of Ohio State and served as the state 4-H Club leader under 1953.
He joined the federal government agricultural extension program in Washington and was assigned to Bogotá, Colombia, where he served as the advisor to the College of Agricultural Extension Services.
He remained in Columbia until 1962, when he was assigned as a senior advisor to the Republic of Panama. In the fall of 1963, h was named senior adviser on agricultural problems of all of Latin America.
He taught at the Inter-American Institute of the Organization of American States at Turrialba, Costa Rica, until illness forced his retirement.
In 1923, he was married to the former Sara Lintz [sic-Lentz] of Antioch, O.
Survivi ng are two daughters, Mrs. Martha Cecot of Willowick and Mrs. Wilma [sic-William] Mahusky of Chesterland, six grandchildren and two brothers.
Services will be at the First Congregational Church, Columbus, at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
