Obit: The death of Adolph Burkhart, a highly repected and well known citizen, occured at his home on West Main Street, Monday night, following several years of declining health and critically for past three months.
Deceased, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Burkhart, was born June 24, 1863, at Burkhart Station, Monroe County, where he lived in early life.
He was first married to Katherine Arnold who died in 1919 and several years later, he married Katherine Tuefel, who preceded him in death in June 1936. With exception of a few years in Braddock, PA., He spent his later years in and around Barnesville and was a worthy member of the Church of the Assumption and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Grant Scott, Barnesville and Mary Burkhart of Ozark; two granddaughters, Martha Lee Scott and Mrs. Clifford Gill of Barnesville. He also leaves three sisters and one brother: Mrs. Harry Flowers, Barnesville, Elizabeth and C. A. Burkhart of Ozark.
The body in charge of Campbell Funeral directors was moved to his late home Wednesday evening and this morning will be take to Church of the Assumption, where requiem high mass will be conducted at 9:30 in charge of Rev. Father Herman Tague. The funeral cortege will then go to Ozark Church where services will be concluded and burial made.
