Obituary 26 November 1973 His obituary stated: "John F. Holzinger, 64, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Huntington Memorial Hospital, after a servious illness of nine days. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Holzinger was a painter and interior decorator by trade and was an employe of the True Value Hardware Store. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Born in Huntington County, Nov. 10, 1909, to Joseph and Anna Wehr, his marriage was to Helen Young in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in 1933, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, William Holzinger, Leavenworth, kans. and John Holzinger, Jr. at home, two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Virginia) Maranda, Huntington and Mrs. Donald (Marjorie) Schoeff, Van Buren, 11 grandchildren, three brothers, Paul Holzinger, Midland, Mich., Joseph Holzinger, this city and Richard Holzinger, Fort Wayne, six sisters, Mrs. Leo (Katherine) Buck, Bradenton, Fla., Mrs. Cliff (Mary) Cunningham, Fort Wayne, Mrs. Cecil (Ann) Moore, Midland, Mich., Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Denzel, Midland, Mich., Mrs. Marie McCready, California and Mrs. Rose Miles, Richmond. Two sisters preceded him in death. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Merckx Funeral Home, where recitation of the rosary will be at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Lawrence Gollner officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery." A later notice stated: "Funeral services for John F. Holzinger were held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Lawrence Gollner officiating. Pall bearers were Robert Holzinger, Gerald Holzinger, Larry Holzinger, John G. Myers, Robert Hartle and George Humphrey. Burial was in Mr. Calvary Cemetery and Merckx Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements."1 Burial He was buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Huntington Township, Huntington County, Indiana.1
