CHARLES C. SMITH?
Charles C. (Smitty) Smith, 72, of 1115 Gomber avenue, Cambridge, a veteran?
linotype operator, died at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday (April 21) at Guernsey Memorial?
Hospital in Cambridge. He suffered a stroke at his home Monday evening.?
Mr. Smith worked for the Cambridge Jeffersonian 35 years before retiring in 1963.?
Prior to that he was employed by The Times Recorder two years. He also worked?
briefly at Columbus before moving to Cambridge. He began his career as a printer?
in 1921 at Woodsfield with The Spirit of Democracy, a weekly publication.?
He was born May 11, 1897, in Monroe County, a son of Henry and Clara Fisher?
Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in?
Cambridge which he served as an elder and trustee. He was also a past chancellor?
commander of the Knights of Pythias of Woodsfield.?
Surviving are his widow, the former Inez Marie Fulton, whom he married Aug. 4,?
1926; a brother, Raymond of Zanesville: and several nieces and nephews.?
Friends may call at Scott Funeral Home in Cambridge to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.?
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. George?
L. Setterfield officiating.?
The body will then be taken to Michener Funeral Home in Woodsfield where??
friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held there at 1:30 p.m.?
Friday with Rev. Setterfield officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery at?
Woodsfield.?
