Mary Ann Taylor
HEBRON, Neb. Mary Ann Taylor, 78, Hebron, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009. She was born July 13, 1930, in Deshler. She was a retired cook. Survivors include three sons, Randy Taylor, of Deshler, Dennis Taylor, of North Little Rock, Ark., and Bradley Taylor, of Keller, Texas; six grandchildren: 10 great-grandchildren: and a brother, Eugene Weiss, of Lincoln. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Price Funeral Home, 210 S. Third St., Hebron, NE 68370. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Grace Lutheran Church, Hebron.

Mary Ann Taylor, the daughter of Carl and Rosa (Neuhart) Weiss, was born on July 13, 1930, on a farm in rural Deshler, Nebraska. She was one of five children born to her parents. She passed away on February 11, 2009, at BryanLGH Medical Center East, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 78 years, 6 months, 28 days.
She was a baptized and confirmed member of the Lutheran Church, attended Trinity Lutheran School Friedensau and was a Deshler High School graduate. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Glen Taylor on July 4, 1948, by Pastor A. H. Mette, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Friedensau, in rural Hebron, Nebraska. This union was blessed with three sons, Randy, Dennis and Bradley. During her lifetime Mary Ann lived in Deshler and Hebron. While in Deshler she worked at the Deshler Broom Factory and Parkview Haven Nursing Home. In Hebron, she worked at the Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home and Casey's General Store. Mary Ann was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Thayer County VFW Goldstar Post #5328 Auxiliary both in Hebron. She was a former member of the Halfman American Legion Post #352 Auxiliary in Deshler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen on May 12, 1979; two brothers, LeRoy Weiss and Eldor Weiss; one sister, Inez Gerberding; and one sister-in-law, Jean Weiss. She is survived by her three sons, Randy Taylor and wife, Kathy of Deshler, Nebraska; Dennis Taylor and wife, Beverly of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Bradley Taylor and wife, Kathleen of Keller, Texas; 6 grandchildren: Jason Knaub of Lincoln, NE; Trevor Taylor of Deshler, NE; Shawn (Taylor) Davis and husband, Craig of North Richland Hills, TX; Chad Taylor and wife, Loreen of Texas (stationed in Kuwait); Megan Taylor, of Keller, TX; and Lance Taylor and wife, Amanda of Fort Worth, TX; 10 great-grandchildren: Victoria, Braiden, Connor and Dylan Davis of North Richland Hills, TX; Dalton, Sarah, Richard, and Niyaz Taylor of TX; and Bailey and Kiley Taylor of Fort Worth, TX; one brother, Eugene Weiss and wife, LaVada of Lincoln, NE; one sister-in-law, Trilby Weiss of Superior, and one brother-in-law, Harold Gerberding and wife, Lucille of Deshler, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Monday, February 16, 2009, at 10:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, Hebron, Nebraska.
Interment: Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Deshler, NE
