Reference: Dansville, New York, Dansville Community Home PageObituary: Arthur Malter Jr.Born February 25, 1930Died June 28, 1989Arthur (Buddy) Malter Jr., 59, of Main Street in Perkinsville died unexpectedly Wednesday (June 28, 1989) in Noyes Memorial Hospital.Born Feb. 25, 1930, in Perkinsville, he was a son of Arthur and Magdalen Gunther Malter. A member of Sacred Heart Church of Perkinsville, he was amember of the Perkinsville Rod and Gun Club, Perkinsville Fire Department, North Cohocton-Atlanta Sports Club, Knights of Columbus Four Degreesin Mt. Morris and the Third Degree in Hornell.Mr. Malter served as a staff sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Hornell and ofDaniel Goho American Legion Post in Dansville. He was a 40-year employee of the Gunlocke Co. in Wayland.Surviving are his mother of Perkinsville; three brothers, Stephen and John of Perkinsville and Frank of Cohocton; five sisters, Roseanne Lawrence andMarlene Wellington of Arkport, Kathleen Walters of Bellefonte, Pa., Dorothy Wager and Sally Brooks of Wayland; nieces and nephews.A prayer service was conducted Saturday morning in the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home of Wayland followed by Mass of Christian Burial in SacredHeart Church. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Perkinsville Fire Department.
