  [S927] Obituary. The Zanesville Signal newspaper, May 31, 1945. Mrs. Luella Menkel Woodsfield -- Mrs. Luella Stentzel Menkel of Ansonia died at her home Tuesday morning following a long illness. Funeral services were held there this afternoon and several relatives from here attended. Mrs. Menkel was born in Wheeling and was a daughter of John and Henrietta Gramlich Stentzel. Her father died when she was three years old and she came to Miltonsburg and lived with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Luley until her marriage to Theodore F. Menkel. They then moved to Woodsfield and remained here until 1911. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Amy Menkel Brown; four sons, Charles, Thurman, Grover and Kenneth and one sister, Mrs. James Wharton of Woodsfield, and one half sister, May Mann Vosper of Columbus.
