Obituary (from Betty Hartley): Benjamin S. Burkhart, 74, of Woodsfield, R3, died Monday morning January 22, 1973 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio, following a week's illness.Born November 4, 1898, at Lewisville, he was a son of John and Matilda Woll Burkhart.Mr. Burkhart was a member of St. Sylvester's Catholic Church in Woodsfield, and was a retired farmer.He is survived by one sister, Miss Stella Burkhart of the home. One sister, Miss Clara Burkhart, died in 1968.Friends were received at the Michener Funeral Home on Easter Avenue where the Rosary was recited on Tues-day evening at 7:30 p.m.A Mass of Participation was solemnized on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock in St. Sylvester's Church, with Msgr. Robert A. Brown officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
