Truax, 84, of Barnesville, died Saturday (July 15, 2006) at Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville. He as born Jan. 29, 1922, in Woodsfield, son of the late Cletis L. and Mary (Brown) Truax. Mr. Truax was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II amd surviving the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post 168, VFW Post 2792 and Bethesda Sportsman Club. He retired from Wesbanco. He was preceded in death by two sons, James and David Truax, and four brothers, Durel, Junior, Robert and Paul Truax. He leaves his wife, Wilma (Barkley) Truax; four sons, Rick (Redona) Truax, Jay (Toni) Rockwell, Dennis (Johanna) Rockwell and Darryl (Lori) Rockwell, all of Barnesville; five daughters, Barbara (Darren) Harris of Barnesville, Jean Ann (Wayne) Cross of West Virginia, Terry (Terry) Carpenter of Barnesville, Diane (Gerald) St. John of Tennessee and Darla (Greg) Wesley of Barnesville; a brother, Charles Truax of Woodsfield; five sisters, Esther Wahl of Canton, Jean Ruschman of Louisville, Doris Keylor of Woodsfield, Judy Parden of Woodsfield and Shirley Phalszgraf of Lewisville; 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, where services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Tom Detling officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Barnesville First United Methodist Church.
