Joined his Heavenly Father on August 17, 2007. He was born on July 10, 1913 in Taylor, North Dakota to John and Florentine Dauenhauer. He was raised by Bridget Dauenhauer, his step-mother, after the death of his mother in 1918. He spent his youth in North Dakota. At the age of 21, he came to Washington. He served in the U.S. Army from 1936 to 1940, and then again from 1943 to 1946. He married Thelma Hamilton in 1943, and they spent 64 wonderful years together. He worked at Kaiser and retired in 1976. He spent his retirement years fishing, camping, gardening and wintering in Arizona. Frank is survived by his wife; two sons, Dick (Eva) Dauenhauer, Jim (Gretchen) Dauenhauer; and three grandsons, Luke, Matt, and Seth Dauenhauer. He is also survived by his brothers, Mike, Ervin and Nick Dauenhauer; his sisters, Margaret Johnston, Maggie Lantz and Violetta Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Hospice and the caretakers for their excellent care. A Celebration of his Life will be held on August 24, at 11:00 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams in Veradale. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
