Magdalena 'Maggie' Lantz
The Mass of Christian burial for Magdalena ?Maggie? Lantz, age 87 of Mott, will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT, Saturday, May 30 at St. Vincent?s Catholic Church in Mott. Fr. Charles Zins will officiate with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott.
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. MDT on Friday evening at St. Vincent?s Catholic Church.
Magdalena Dauenhauer ?Maggie? was born March 28, 1922 in Mott to John and Bridget (Lutz) Dauenhauer. She grew up in Mott and graduated from Mott Lincoln High School in 1941. She worked in mercantiles in Bowman and Carson. After living in Washington a short time, she was united in marriage to Kasper Wilhelm Lantz on Nov. 30, 1944 in Rosalia, Wash. They began their life together on the family farm which they operated until 1955, when they moved into Mott.
In 1959, she began managing the Mott Theatre which she continued to do with the help of her husband. Kasper passed away in 1992. Maggie entered the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Mott in June of 2006. She passed from this life there, on Wednesday, May 27.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, canning, cooking and baking. Her passion was in genealogy.
Surviving family members include, six sons, Kasper ?Reggie,? Missoula, Mont.; Darrell, Puyallup, Wash.; Brian, Portland, Ore.; Clifford, Fairview, Okla.; Tex, Mott; Donald ?George,? Dickinson; three daughters, Naomi Gosney, Stillwater, Okla.; Nadine ?Rose? Oberlander, Mott; Patricia Thomas, Mott; 27 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; three brothers, Mike Dauenhauer, Spokane, Wash.; Nick Dauenhauer, Portland, Ore.; Ervin Dauenhauer, Seattle; two sisters, Margaret Johnston, Hopewell, Va.; and Violetta Ward, Spokane, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kasper, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; six brothers, Frank, Marcus, Phillip, Tony, George and Peter, two sisters, Veronica and Elizabeth.
Visitation will be Friday, 1 to 6 p.m., at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.
