David A. Fyock
David A Fyock, 80, of Evans City passed away Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Passavant, McCandless Township.
Born Nov. 5, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Dwight and E. Gwen Wissinger Fyock.
He was a member of Mars Alliance Church.
Mr. Fyock was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he played football.
He was an educator, administrator and entrepreneur. He had worked for American Schools International as a coach and administrator in Tai Pei, Taiwan and Bangkok, Thailand, and as a coach and principal in Esfahan, Iran.
He had been the associate director of Development and Alumni Affairs and executive secretary of the Varsity Letter Club at the University of Pittsburgh. He served as the dean of men at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, W.Va. Most recently, he owned and operated a consulting firm, China Consultants.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan.
Surviving are his wife, Kim Chen Fyock, who he married April 20, 1966; three daughters, Debra Fyock and her husband, Alfred Stidle, of Pittsburgh, Darcy Fyock Zotter of Jakarta, Indonesia, and SuLan Fyock Peebles and her husband, Craig, of Castro Valley, Calif.; a son, Shawn (Naomi) Fyock of Vancouver, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
FYOCK - Relatives and friends of David A Fyock, who died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, will be received at A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Lawther, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Evans City Cemetery.
