The following article appeared in the Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on Aug. 3, 1933 SCHATT REUNION IS HELD AT MARIETTA SUMMERFILED, O., Aug 3 -- The annual Schatt reunion was held Sunday at Marietta fairgrounds and was largely attended by relatives and friends. A picnic dinner was served with the following present: Jacob Schatt and Mr. and Mrs John Schehl and sons Earl, Harold and Clarence, Berne; Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Schatt and Miss Cora Sorg, Summerfield; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Baker and daughter Dorothy and sons Earl and Roger Lee, Lewisville; Mr. and Mrs Joseph Zwick and daughter Lorena and son Clarence and Miss Junita Camden, Mss. Jacob Schott's obituary appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on August 22, 1942 DEATH COMES TO JACOB SCHOTT, 87 CALDWELL -- Jacob Schott, 87, retired farmer of near Carlisle, and a lifelong resident of Noble county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alex Crock of near Carlisle, Friday, shortly before noon, following a six-weeks illness of a heart ailment. He was twice married, first to Mary Ann Miller and following her death to Mary Block, also deceased. Surviving are five daughters and five sons; Mrs. Ben Gerdes of Coldwater; Mrs. Crock; Mrs. William Crum of Canton; Mrs. Eugene Lieser, Cleveland; Mrs. Rose Moran, Maywood, Ill., Isadore, of Louisville, O.,; Edward, Martin and Urban, all of Cleveland and Wilbur of near Caldwell; three brothers, John of Fulda and M. F. and Caster (sic: Casper) of Caldwell. Funeral services will be Monday at 9:30 a. m. in St. Michael's church at Carlisle, with Rev. Father J. J. Donaldson officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery in charge of the Brubach funeral home.
Jacob Schott's funeral notice was published in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on August 26, 1942 SCHOTT FUNERAL Funeral services for Jacob Schott, 87, of the Berne community, were held Monday at the St. Michael church at Berne, with Rev. Father J.J. Donaldson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are five sons, Isadore, of Lewisville, O.; Edward, Martin and Urban, of Cleveland, and William of near Caldwell; five daughters, Mrs. Ben Gerdes, of Coldwater; Mrs. William Crum, of Canton; Mrs. Eugene Liesser, of Cleveland; Mrs. Rose Moran, of Maywood, Ill., and Mrs. Alex Crock, of the home; three brothers, Nicholas andCasper of Caldwell and John of Fulda.
