Clara Elizabeth Rausch, age 94, of Woodsfield, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 20, 1912, Barnesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Edward Froehlich and Lillian Chambers Froehlich. She was a member of the St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Woodsfield.She was valedictorian of the Barnesville High School Class of 1930. Preceding her marriage she was an elementary school teacher at Trinity Catholic School on Wheeling Island. She and her husband, Elmer A. Rausch with her sister-in-law, Hilda Rausch published the Monroe County Beacon for over 30 years. In later years she continued to proof read for the new owners until December of 2005.She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer A. Rausch in 1993; sister-in-law, Hilda Rausch; two brothers, Bernard and Leo Froehlich; one infant sister, Bernice Froehlich.She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Paul) Conner, Woodsfield, Ohio; Rita (Jack) Spiers, Pickerington, Ohio; one granddaughter, Cynthia Conner, Gahanna, Ohio; two grandsons, Michael (Bobbie) Spiers, Delaware, Ohio; Scott (Heidi) Spiers, Powell, Ohio; two great-grand- sons, Alex and Will Spiers; two nieces, Jackie Gant, Newark, Ohio; Sister Mary- anne Froehlich, Manitowoc, Wisconsin; one nephew, Msgr. Mark Froehlich, Lansing, Ohio.Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m., with Vigil Services at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2007, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio.Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 11 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2007, at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. David Gaydosik officiating.Interment in the Church Cemetery.Memorial contributions can be made to St. Sylvester Church or the Barnesville High School Alumni Association.
