Sr. TROY TOWNSHIP Paul J. Spangler, Sr., 69 years of age of Troy Township, became Our Gift to God on Friday November 6, 2009 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Paul was Gods Gift to Us on July 15, 1940 in Woodsfield, Ohio, the son of Herman L. and the late Stella Edna (Schumacher) Spangler. Paul was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Canton, and then attended and graduated from John Carroll University in Cleveland. A resident of Geauga County the past 40 years, Paul was the President of Drummond Corporation of Burton, a custom plastics machining company, which he started in 1979. An avid aviation enthusiast, Paul was interested in antique cars and motorcycles, and held memberships in the REO Club of America and the Marmon Owners Club. A very active member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Parkman , Paul truly loved his church and lived his life with the inspiration that he derived from his religious beliefs. A very caring gentleman, Paul reached out to help family and friends without hesitation. Shared memories include the special family vacations and traveling to all parts of the world that he and Joan enjoyed together. On September 14, 1963, he married his devoted wife Joan E. (Snyder) Spangler who survives at their home. Paul is also survived by his beloved children Paul J. (Connie) Spangler, Jr. of Chesterland, Sandra (Mark) OConner of Burton, Sharon (Tom) Perko of Geneva and Linda (Eric) Hammonds of Newbury; his cherished father Herman L. Spangler of Canton; his dear sister Mary Ann Spangler H.M. of Cleveland and dear brother Dr. Robert T. (Donna) Spangler of Canton. 8 loving grandchildren including Robyn, Christi, Amanda, Erika, Elizabeth, Amber, Alex and James also survive. Calling hours will be Monday from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, St. Rt. 44 at the corner of Pioneer Trail (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua, where prayers will be said Tuesday at 10:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday November 10, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 16150 Center St., Parkman, Ohio 44080, with Rev. John Burkley officiating. Paul will be laid to rest at Overlook Cemetery in Parkman Township. Memorial donations are suggested in his name to Hospice of Care Corp. 831 South Street Chardon, Ohio 44024 or to St. Edward Catholic Church.
