Hoover, age 68 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. LaVerne was born December 18, 1938 in Louisville to the late Leon and Marie (Schoeppner) Hoover. He spent most of his life living in the Harrisburg and Marlboro area. He was a former maintenance mechanic for St. Regis - Georgia Pacific, retiring after 41 years of service. LaVerne proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg. LaVerne is survived by a daughter, Mary (John) Vincent of North Carolina; son, Anthony "Andy" Hoover of Massillon; five sisters, Rita Metzger of North Canton, Catherine Teolis of Canton, Patricia Strain of Canton, Monica Eshelman of Canton and Joan Hoover of Louisville; two brothers, Eugene Hoover of Louisville and Kenneth Hoover of Canal Fulton; five grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Ronald Hoover. Funeral services for LaVerne will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville with Msgr. Kenneth Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart of Mary Parish Cemetery.
