BALZAR HOHL OBITUARY d. March 29, 1944

Surname: HOHL
Funeral services were held at the St. John's Catholic church at Rib Lake Saturday, April 1 for Balzar HOHL who died at the home of his son, Tony HOHL, town of Greenwood, last Wednesday, March 29. Rev. R. Gengler officiated at the services. Interment was made in the Lake View cemetery. He was in poor health for about six weeks before his death, due to old age and complications.
Mr. HOHL was born in Germany in 1861. He came to the United States at the age of 16 and settled at Waterloo, Indiana. He was married to Katherine SMITH at Waterloo, Indiana and came to Taylor county in 1909. He made his home in the town of Greenwood the past 33 years where he engaged in farming.
Surviving are four sons, Tony, Mike, John and Sylvester; two daughters, Mary MARTIN and Loretta WUDI; nineteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death in 1929.
The pallbearers were six grandchildren, Francis and Eugene HOHL, Lester and Clarence MARTIN and Harold and Raymond MCGUIRE.
Out of town relatives and friends present at the funeral were, Francis HOHL, Lester and Clarence MARTIN, Mr. and Mrs. Mike HOHL and daughter Marianne, Mr. and Mrs. James WUDI and John HOHL, all of Chicago; Mary HOHL, Goshen, Indiana; Mrs. Katie Miller, Waterloo, Indiana, Mr. and Mrs. Harold MCGUIRE, Medford.
