Mathias HOHL, a resident of Rib Lake the past 42 years, died Saturday morning, December 17, at the HOHL
homestead on the Wellington lake road southwest of the village. He was 85 years old.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 20, at St. John the Baptist church, the Rev. Frederick Stock officiating. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Greenwood. Pallbearers were Buddy, Francis, and Abrose HOHL, Ray SCHLOSSER

Mr. HOHL was born in Germany and came to the States when he was 18 years old. Prior to coming to Rib lake he lived at Waterloo, Iowa (see note), where he was married in 1888. Mrs. HOHL died in 1935.
Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Margaret DOEMLING of Chicago and Mrs. Monica SEMANDEL of Stratford; four sons, Ben and Frank, Rib Lake, Wilfred, Chicago, and Vincent, Prentice. There are 25 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
