Sara E. Ritchey
Nov. 5, 1918 - July 8, 2010
Sara E. Ritchey, 91, of Curryville passed away Thursday evening at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, after a brief illness.
She was born near Salemville, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Fyock) Replogle. She married Lyonel D. "Bud" Ritchey, who preceded her in death on June 22, 1984.
Surviving are three sons: Robert E. and wife, Annette, of Curryville, Cary L. and wife, Suzanne, of Roaring Spring and Joe A. and wife, Brenda, of rural Martinsburg; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and two sisters: Lois Muntain of Chestertown, Md., and Vera Stern of rural Martinsburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ida Baker.
Sara was a graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. She was a devoted member of the Curryville Church of the Brethren. Her love in life was her family, and she also enjoyed flower gardening.
There will be no public viewing. A private funeral service for the family will be held at the Curryville Church of the Brethren, Pastor David R. Stiles officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be given to Curryville Church of the Brethren.
Arrangements are by John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
